The sulfate description
Glucosamine, or more precisely glucosamine sulfate or glucosamine hydrochloride, is a substance synthesized by the body, it is in fact a carbohydrate combining glucose and an amino acid, glutamine from where its name is glucosamine.
This element that the body makes is essential in maintaining the integrity of the cartilage, but over time, this production diminishes and leads to degeneration of the cartilage known as osteoarthritis. This carbohydrate does not exist in our diet for this, it is extracted from chitin, a nitrogenous organic substance that comes from the shells of crustaceans such as those of shrimp and langoustines, crabs and lobsters.
Glucosamine culture
It was discovered and used in Germany only about 20 years ago, at that time it was only available as a preparation for injection into the joints directly. Fortunately, ten years later, it was packaged by an Italian company in the form of capsules, which was much more convenient to administer.
This carbohydrate is now renowned for its virtues, some countries Europe can only obtain it under medical prescription, while in other states it is a dietary supplement and free of sale.
Glucosamine its composition
It is a substance whose sole and main compound is glucosamine sulfate.
Glucosamine and its medicinal properties
The main objective is to contribute to the good constitution of the cartilage present in the joints, it also participates in the manufacture of bones and tendons and ligaments as well as the synovial lubricant existing in the joints.
This carbohydrate also has anti-inflammatory properties which brings relief from joint pain in disorders due to mild to moderate arthritis and osteoarthritis.
Glucosamine intake helps to slow the progression of osteoarthritis, which is a benefit in the knee joint. It decreases the healing time of joint injuries in great athletes, such as weightlifters.
Its association with chondroitin is most beneficial in certain osteoarticular disorders and provides significant and precious relief in the duration as well as in their amplitude.
